 Part 1. How to convert DVD to iTunes highly compatible video formats

Note: For Windows (including Windows 8) users, just follow the detailed guide to complete your conversion. The way to add DVD movies to iTunes on Mac (including Mountain Lion and Mavericks) is the same. Just make sure you've downloaded the right version.

1Add DVD movies to the program

Install and launch the program, then click Load DVD to import the DVD movies that you want to import to iTunes library. After the files are loaded, you can preview them on the right and take snapshots of any movie scenes. 2Select the output format

As we know, iTunes supports MP4, M4V and MOV formats. So here you can click Profile and choose any of the three from Common Video as the output file format.  Part 2. Rip non-protected DVD to iTunes for free with VLC media player

Make sure you have VLC installed on your computer. If not, download it from its official website download VLC at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/. Note that VLC can't handle copyright protected commercial DVD movies and the output video quality is not good. If you have some protected DVD movies and want to add them to iTunes or want to get better quality videos, please refer to Part 1.

1. Insert the DVD disc to your computer hard drive and launch VLC media player. Click Media > Open Disc and the below window will pop up, where you can select the Disc device you want to rip.

2. Check DVD to make sure the disc device field specifies to the optical drive with the DVD, select the output format as MP4 and click Convert/Save to start ripping. When the conversion completes, open your iTunes and transfer the ripped DVD movies to your iTunes library and then sync them to your iPhone/iPad/iPod.

Hi. If you are using Aimersoft DVD Ripper, please check the preference settings, here's the way: Click "Tools" > "Preference" and tick "Add Files to iTunes Library after conversion". If it still don't work, you can open iTunes to sync the files from the output folder.

Hi, the screenshots are taken from the Windows version of DVD ripper. If you are using Mac, please download Aimersoft DVD Ripper for Mac. And to launch this program after installation, please open the Application folder and click on the DVD Ripper icon.

Ok, I just purchased DVD Ripper for Mac. I'm running OS 10.8.5. When I try and launch the program, I do NOT get the window described in the tutorial. I get a gray looking window with the instructions to load a file, or drag one "here." When I try and drag something there, nothing sticks. What I want to access is the window shown in the tutorial ... Help!

Yes,there is a "Subtitle" setting in the main window of the program.
