How do I transfer songs over to my I pad

I used this method once, I could see and read the movie on my iPad. Then I did it a second and third time, but then I could see but not read the files from my iPad. To be sure it was not about the video files, I took out/transfered back the first video file (the one that I could read the 1st time) and I couldn't read it anymore!! What happened??

i wish Itunes was the same on all deviced if you have it on your computer it automatically goes to all devices without transfering it or syncing it they all have the same account
