Part 1. How to convert home DVD for play on iPad

1Load DVD

Run the program and click "Load DVD" button to import your DVD files. The loaded DVD's information, such as trimmed length, estimated size, destination file, etc. will be displayed in the file list. You can then select the subtitle and audio track you prefer, preview the added files, take snapshots, adjust volume, etc. And if you want to merge the added files into one big one, simply select Merge into One File.

2Select the output format

To convert home DVD to iPad, you can click Profile > iPad and select iPad as the output format to get videos with optimized settings for your iPad. Video and audio formats like MP4, M4V, MOV and MP3 are also provided. Simply click Common Video or Common Audio to select the format you want.

If you want to customize the output video, you can click the "Settings" button next to the format field to open the Settings window and set video resolution, frame rate, bit rate, encoder, etc. as below.

3Start converting DVD to your iPad

Make sure all the settings are right and click "Start" to convert the selected DVD files to iPad immediately.

Part 2. How to edit DVD movies

Aimersoft DVD to iPad Converter comes with a built-in video editor that lets you personalize your DVD movies to get the very part and effect you want. Here is how to use the video editing functions.

1. Edit Video

Highlight a video file you need and click "Edit" to open the Video Edit Window where there are some editing functions to choose - Crop, Effect, Watermark. You can crop the video for the needed area, set special effects and add text/picture watermarks. All the applied settings can be seen instantly in the right window.

2. Trim Video

Select a video file in the file lis and click "Trim" button at the top to open the Trim window. You can choose the segment you like from the source video by dragging the slider of manually setting the start and end time.
