MOV Rotator-How to Rotate MOV File on Win/Mac

How to rotate MOV file

The sreenshots are taken from Windows. Mac users please install MOV rotator for Mac and then follow the same tutorial.

1Import MOV files into the software

Firstly, launch the program and import the MOV files that need to be rotated to the media libray.You can either load your MOV file simply by clicking “Import” or clicking the video editor icon located in the left-upper corner and selecting "Add Files".

Once you have the video imported, drag the target MOV file from the media library to the timeline panel and click the "Editing" button to open the video edit window. Alternatively, you can also right click on the mouse and choose "Edit" to access to the window. There are four rotating options: 90 degree clockwise, 90 degree anti-clockwise, horizontal flip and vertical flip. You can select how much you want the MOV clip to rotate by clicking the corresponding icon. The effect after rotating will be displayed immediately in the preview window. To reset the rotation, please click "Reset".

3Save the rotated video

After checking you have rotated your MOV file in correct orientation, you can click "Create" to save the new file. In the pop-up window, you are provided with four different ways of output:

  • Click "Format" tag to save the MOV file to local computer both in its original format or other regular formats;
  • Click "Device" tag and select the corresponding device from the list to export your file directly;
  • Click "YouTube" tag and type in the required info to immediately share the rotated video on YouTube;
  • Click "DVD" tag and select the parameters respectively to burn it to DVD disc.
