How to Import and Play MOV Files on Windows Media Player?

I have a new camera that records videos but when I transfer them to my laptop they are stored in MOV format. I keep getting error messages when I try to play them in windows media player, is there a way to play them in Windows Media player?

MOV, the QuickTime multimedia file format, only can be played on some special media players, like Apple QuickTime, VLC, etc. Compared with some other popular media formats, like AVI, and WMV, it has many limitations when people try to play the files in Windows Media Player or import the files to Windows Movie Maker for editing.

Because Windows Media Player does not support MOV format, we need a third party Video Converter to convert MOV files to Windows Media Player formats, like WMV, AVI, MPEG, etc. here we have two different video conversion programs for Windows and Mac users.

How to Import and Play MOV Files in Windows Media Player?

1 Load MOV files from hard drive or portable devices
