Two Ways to Convert QuickTime MOV to MP4?

This tutorial was meant to teach you how to convert .mov to .mp4, so they could be played on popular portable players, there are multiple ways to convert the MOV files you download, here I'm going to show you two ways.

Method 1: Convert QuickTime MOV to MP4 with Aimersoft Video Converter

1Load MOV files from local device or portable devices

Click to load MOV files from the local devices, or portable devices that connected to your computer (like USB device, camcorder, iPhone, etc); you also can drag the files to this program directly.

2 Set output format as MP4 and destination folder

Select the optimal output format under the menu of "Profile". If you want to change the default folder for the output files, please click "Output" drop-down list to set new destination folder

3Edit videos like Crop, Clip, watermark, effect

Click to trim video and set the start time & end time to get multiple clips as need. Or click to crop the frame size, add special effects, add picture/text watermark, or edit subtitle.

4Start to convert MOV files to MP4

Once we've finished all the settings, click on "Start" button to convert video. After conversion, click the "Find Target" button to open the output folder and find the converted files.

Method 2: Convert QuickTime MOV to MP4 with QuickTime Pro

The second way is to use QuickTime. Although QuickTime is free, to use the exporting feature requires QuickTime Pro, which is $29. 99.

First, open up the .mov files with QuickTime. From there, hit File, and then Export… This will bring up the Export window. Enter the File Name you wish to save the file as. In the drop-down list under Export select mp4. Now hit the Options button, which will bring up the MP4 Export Settings screen.

In the File Format drop-down list, select MP4. In the next drop-down list, select Video. Under Video Format, select Pass Through. All other settings below should gray out after selecting Pass Through.

Hit OK, and then save to begin the Export process. This should only take a few seconds, but will vary by your CPU.
